Description
NOT gate, also known as an inverter, is a logic gate that takes in one input and produces an output that is the opposite of the input. In other words, if the input is high (1), the output will be low (0), and if the input is low, the output will be high.
The symbol for a NOT gate is a triangle with a small circle at the input, representing the input signal, and a small bubble at the output, representing the inverted output signal. The Boolean expression for a NOT gate is simply:
Output = NOT(Input)
The truth table for a NOT gate is as follows:
Input | Output |
---|---|
0 | 1 |
1 | 0 |
